Stars We String YI BEAD COLLAGE

Inspired by a small museum in Songyang Village, I began incorporating beads into my photographs. Later, observing Yi artisans embedding colorful beads into silver jewelry, I realized how tradition and innovation coexist in their craft. These beads—fragile yet luminous—symbolize both memory and imagination. In my images, they scatter like stars, echoing the innocence of the children I met and the enduring radiance of the Yi spirit.
