I initiated my piece with the simple goal of creating a tree that was beautiful to me. Gradually, the image of a bare, wintry tree emerged—poised between stillness and quiet strength. Cold permeates its branches, while flickering candlelight evokes warmth and hope, inspiring the title Winter Approaching.
Guided by instinct, I shaped the iron wire freely, letting the candles define their own form. Melted wax became traces of time and emotion, a motif that stayed with me through each revision. Using wire for its raw flexibility and candles for their symbolic light, I found meaning in the uncertainty of working with unfamiliar materials.
Trees grow upward, symbolizing passionate vitality. This project redefined my view of nature—not only as lush forests but as life persisting in silence. I hope viewers sense both fragility and endurance, and find comfort in the small warmths that endure through the cold.
